20th Colloquium of the Malaysia and Singapore Society Australia (MASSA2018)

Malaysia and Singapore are confronted by dramatic economic, socio-political, environment challenges associated with the intensification of globalization, regionalism, nationalism and localism. Symposium presenters will critically interrogate these inter-related challenges within disciplinary and multi-disciplinary frameworks.

  • 1 October 2017-Extended abstract submission (2 pages, 1000 words) including institutional affiliation, 150-word bio-profile
  • 1 November 2017- Notification of extended abstract acceptance

Registration fees (includes conference dinner)

  • Local presenters/participants- RM280.00
  • Local student presenters/ participants – RM230.00
  • International presenters/ participants – AUD $100
  • International student presenters/ participants – AUD $80
  • Additional Paper (Local Presenters/ Local Student Presenters) – RM100.00
  • Additional Paper (International Presenters/ International Student Presenters) – AUD $35
  • Accompanying persons- RM100/person

Field-trip Options

  • Terengganu hinterland Kenyir Lake (day-trip)
  • Terengganu coast Setiu Wetlands (day-trip)
  • Sabah 2 nights or 3-day field-trip
    • Homestay with coastal communities at  the Tun Mustapha Park (Sulu Sea)  OR
    • Homestay at the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu
    • *Interested participants for Sabah trip are to make their own travel arrangement for meeting in Kota Kinabalu on the 10th of February 2018 at 5.00 pm. Specific venue for meeting will be notified later.

It provides a platform for scientists, researchers, practitioners and post graduate students from all over the world to share their ideas and research findings and present solutions to unsustainable development and community livelihood issues in developed and developing countries.

Conference objectives:

  1. To bring together lecturers, scientists, academicians and researchers to discuss and deliberate on national and international issues.
  2. To provide a platform for scientists in various disciplines to present their research findings and to establish networking linkages.
